Through proper guidance and exemplary leadership, the GEYBA program assists the youth of Glen Ellyn in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well being. By espousing the virtues of character, courage and loyalty, Glen Ellyn Youth Baseball is designed to develop superior citizens rather than superior athletes.
Managers
All GEYBA managers must be ASEP certified before they can manage a team. A person who wishes to become a manager must register through the GEYBA website (www.glenellynbaseball.com) and attend a manager’s interview. Managers are evaluated annually and must attend all manager clinics and a pre-season informational meeting.
Parents
Parent participation is the heart of Glen Ellyn Baseball. All committee members, commissioners, and coaches are volunteers. Without the volunteers, the baseball program could not survive.

Youth Umpire Program
The challenging and rewarding position of umpire is not for everyone. Those who qualify will be challenged mentally and physically, and will be rewarded financially. Umpire positions are available to persons at least 13 years of age by April 1 of the current season. All umpires are employees of the Glen Ellyn Park District. Training sessions are mandatory and provided free of charge. Those under the age of 16 will be required to acquire a work permit from their schools. For more information (including how to apply), visit the GEYBA website (www.glenellynbaseball.com).
